Speaking on May 23, 2013 at the 26th Plenary meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev N.A. For the first time, he voiced a proposal to create on the basis of KATU an international-level research university in the field of agriculture, following the example of AEO Nazarbayev University. This time can be considered the starting point for the reform of KATU.
